The Challenge
With a compromised financial position, declining volumes and reputational damage, Transnet embarked on the Reinvent for Growth (R4G) strategy to remedy the former and actualise the direct opposite. They needed assistance in developing an internal communication plan that would serve as a strategic framework to activate and embed the Reinvent for Growth (R4G) strategy across the employee lifecycle. They needed a plan to align, engage and empower employees by creating a shared understanding of the strategy. Translating it into clear, relatable and actionable messages that reinforce performance driven culture, cultivate pride in national impact and inspire active participation in Transnet’s transformation journey.
Our Solution
We developed a comprehensive Internal Communications Strategy that was anchored on the following strategic intent:

Embed the strategy in everyday processes, behaviours, and culture by making it tangible, visible and personally relevant to every employee.
Adding value and advancing careers
Over and above the intangible factors such as improved employee morale, customer confidence and a redeemed reputation, Transnet saw good improvements within their operations. By the start of October 2025, which was week 28 of the strategic implementation:Total Rail Volume Performance reached 87.25 MT, marking a 5.21% increase compared to the same week last year.
